About the Author

It started with yearbooks, both high school and college, this love of seeing one's words in print. I grew up in Salt Lake City, where I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in journalism. During senior year of college I met my husband, a photographer also on yearbook staff. We married the year we graduated.
Then the journey began. With career promotions and transfers, we moved every few years until finally settling in Hawai`i with our three children. So many settings provided scenes and scenarios for fiction writing. All's Faire, a lighthearted romance set in Illinois, got its setting from our years in Northbrook. The Whole Enchilada, a 2002 finalist in Romance Writers of America Golden Heart contest, germinated in San Antonio when scouting colleges with my daughter. Kaneloa, a short story appearing in Ghosts at the Coast, was nominated for Pushcart Prizes: Best of the Small Presses in 2005. Picture Perfect is a reminder of celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a cruise from Athens to Istanbul. In addition to novels and short stories, I have written articles and essays that have appeared in both Honolulu daily papers. I've been an active member of RWA since 1995.
Prior to writing full time, I worked as a travel agent. Before that, as writer and editor of business publications. My husband and I are still avid travelers, chronicling our adventures in photos and narrative. We have biked in Europe, slid down the crater of a volcano in New Zealand, kayaked on the California coast and Canadian inlets, and even hiked part of the Inca trail into Machu Picchu. We now divide our time between homes in Hawai`i and Utah, the beaches and the mountains.
